All Church Staff and Volunteers must participate in Safe Sanctuaries training annually to refresh and renew knowledge of our policy. Any individual who will be interacting with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults in the work of our church must participate in this training.

Asbury will be offering opportunities for our staff and volunteers to receive this training here at our church in the Fellowship Hall. The first training session will be Saturday, March 18th, 3:00-4:00 pm. Other opportunities will be offered as needed. Starting once we have 3 people, on Sundays at 4pm in the Joy Classroom

Asbury would like to offer a time for people to come together and talk to process feelings and help provide support around the changes taking place from the vote of disaffiliation.  Any life change can bring about joy as well as grief which can come with feelings of sadness, anger, and anxiety.  The talk circle would be a time to share, pray, encourage, and love one another in a facilitated and safe manner. 

In order to help maintain a structure for the group and to be sure we can provide for those interested, sign up is requested ahead of attendance. Signing up will also help with communication about the group.  Signing up is not a commitment, and participation in the talk circle is voluntary.  The groups will meet ongoing weekly until members decide they no longer need to attend. 

If you would like to be a part of the talk circle please sign up via the orange link below or contacting the church office. The group will meet at the church at 4pm on Sundays as soon as we have 3 or more to gather and will be led by Josiah Stuhmer (josiahs@hopepathways.com).  Additional groups and times may be added based on interest.

Everyone loves this time of fellowship and sharing a meal together. Our wonderful volunteers start early in the day to get us a delicious meal, so to thank them, take time to help with clean up every week.  To make reservations, please fill out the reservation form in the Gathering Area, on the counter, or call the office.  Reservations are due by 1pm on Tuesday.

Everyone has coins laying around the house, in your pocket, or in the bottom of your purse.  Please consider taking those coins and putting them to a good cause - Coins for Kids.  You can drop your coins in the tube outside the sanctuary.  Let’s see if we can get that tube to overflow!!

The Chosen is a television series based on the life of Jesus and his disciples. You are invited during the season of Lent to join us for a growth group where we will watch the first season of the show together and discuss it afterwards. This show is a great way to dive deeper into your understanding and imagination of who Jesus is and the kind of life he calls us, his disciples, into. We will meet on TODAY, Friday, March 17, 2023, at 11:00 am to box up food for Harlan. Everyone is welcome to come and help!

The Harlan trip is scheduled for May 5 – May 7 we will return after church on the 7th for those that want to attend church with the people we help. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Gathering room to go to Harlan, to help pack, to shop for food, and loading the truck. We will provide a sheet for what foods we are collecting each week and are planning to feed 200 families this year! Lodging information will be coming. We will also do ride sharing. We have rooms blocked under Asbury Methodist Church. $102 for a king and $105 for a double. You can make reservations this week the cutoff date is April 21, for the reduced rate.  We are leaving Friday May 5, handing out food on Saturday May 6, and stay for church on Sunday May 7. Then head home.

We are planning a mission trip to Peru this July 6th to July 18th. We will be doing a medical clinic in the town near Tim and Jennifer's coffee farm, then spend a couple days in Hauncayo helping them with their Kid's clubs. We have some who have committed to the trip, but others are invited to join, both medical and non-medical. We are also in need of financial support, especially for the supplies needed for the medical clinic. Easter Lilies will decorate the sanctuary on Sunday April 9, 2023.  If you would like to help beautify the sanctuary this Easter Sunday, you may purchase a lily in honor, or in memory, of a loved one by filling out an order form, in the Gathering Area, and putting it in the basket.

The cost will be $12.75 each.

To pay for the lily, place your check or cash in the offering plate and designate it “Easter Lily” in the memo line of the check, or bring your order form and payment to the church office.

We need orders no later than Sunday, March 26th.

Gently stretch and get stronger as we connect our mind, breath, and body within the practice of Hatha Yoga. All levels of interest, intentions, and abilities are welcome.  Sessions will be lead by Gingie Watt (wattgingie@yahoo.com) on Saturdays from 9-10:15 AM in Fellowship Hall.  We will review and practice new poses each session to increase our flexibility and strengths.  All levels of experience and abilities will be accommodated.
