Welcome to our

Friday, January 27th newsletter!

Our mission here at Asbury is to share the hope of Christ with the people of Northern Kentucky and beyond. We hope this Friday newsletter can help inform you of all the ways you can join us in sharing that hope to the people of our community.

Dear friends,
This Sunday we are going to take  a close look at the Lord’s Prayer, our guide for prayer from Jesus. I hope that you are in prayer for our church, especially in this season of discernment that we find ourselves in as a congregation. But even more than that, my hope is that all of us can experience more and more of God’s presence in our life together. See you Sunday!
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Cambron

Final Q&A session, February 1st

Wednesday menu:   Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert, and a drink.

On Wednesday February 1st we will have a final time of question and answer as a congregation. We are going to meet at 6pm for dinner provided by the church, have a time of question and answer, spend some time in prayer, and we will close the meeting by taking an anonymous straw poll to determine our next steps as a church. We will not have any other activities this evening (Bible studies, choir, or small groups).

The poll will have two questions:  First, “Are you a member of Asbury UMC?”.  The second question will be “Do you think we should disaffiliate (separate) from the United Methodist Church?”  There will be some space set up to fill out these questions in private and a large box to place it in. Though this isn't an official vote, the Administrative Council will base our next actions as a church on what you, the congregation, feel God calling us to, so it is very important that we receive your input. If you are not able to attend the meeting, please reach out to the office and we will make a way for you to give your input to the Administrative Council.

You’ve got mail….

PLEASE go to the Gathering area and collect your Christmas cards AND your 2022 Contribution Statements.  Don’t forget to make your reservations for Wednesday dinner so we have plenty of fried chicken.

Thank you ….

Dear Asbury,
Thank you for your generous gift, acts of kindness and expressions of appreciation. I am humbled and blessed from our church family.  It was a hard decision to give up mowing the church property.  I have loved every minute of it!
Love, Glenn

Better Together: A Community for Bible Study and Prayer

Becoming more like Christ is something we can only do with other people. We want to invite you to join us for a Wednesday night community group where we will pray together and learn how to read the Bible slowly and spiritually. We will be reading passages from the gospel of Mark together. Join us in-person or online. Please sign up in the lobby and let us know if you need a zoom link sent to you. Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30. In Person (Chapel Room) and On Zoom (Link Sent by Email). Led by Pastor Cambron.

Asbury Sign Choir

Asbury Sign Choir is starting a new beginner sign language class for adults.  The class will be held on Wednesday nights at 6:15 here at church starting Feb 8th.  In addition to studying sign, we will be working on songs to present to the church during services.  If you are interested, please contact Amy Andrae at 859-391-9703.
